Formerly Gotelee & Goldsmith, the award-winning firm was established in 1880 and has developed a strong reputation for its personal and professional approach with clients.
With offices in Ipswich, Hadleigh, Felixstowe and Woodbridge, Gotelee provide a wide range of personal and professional legal services including conveyancing, criminal law, probate, business law, commercial dispute resolution and transport and logistics.
As a forward-thinking, service-driven and fast-growing organisation, Gotelee are keen to adapt and adopt new technologies to streamline their processes and enhance their customer’s experience.
Gotelee approached us in 2017 with an existing product safety due diligence app which was outdated and no longer fitted the purpose for which it was orginally created.
They wanted a new app to assist those in e-commerce distribution such as fulfilment houses and warehouse keepers to comply with their product safety obligations.
Fundamentally, they wanted an app that was easy to use, supported the company’s brand and provided the opportunity for Gotelee to further help their clients as well as the wider marketplace.
We began with a fact-finding session whereby we helped Gotelee further understand and outline what they wanted from the new app. This enabled us to envisage how the app would look and function in order to meet their needs. Once this was agreed, we put together wireframes and mock-ups to show the team at Gotelee, and made any necessary adjustments following their feedback.
Gotelee used their own expertise to provide us with content for the app. This allowed us to focus on developing something that not only looked great, but was easy to use and fulfilled Gotelee’s vision.
Once we’d finished the development phase, we moved into testing. Firstly, we tested the app internally to ensure it worked well on different devices – including Android and iOS – before handing it over to the Gotelee team.
Once perfected, we released the app on behalf of Gotelee and is now available to download to anyone – not just Gotelee’s existing clients. This has provided additional revenue and branding in a global marketplace.
Since its release, the “Gotelee Guardian” app has been awarded the Innovation in Technology award at this year’s UK Warehousing Association Awards, and has been shortlisted for the Law Society’s Excellence in Technology and Innovation Award.
Following its success, Gotelee have plans to work with us to translate the “Gotelee Guardian” app into multiple languages to appeal to a wider audience – specifically within the EU and China.
Together, we will also be exploring other areas of transport and logistics law where apps could be used to streamline and simplify processes.
"We we're already aware of Green Duck and knew they had the skills, technology and forward-thinking approach to deliver this product for us - giving us peace of mind. Their team of developers understood our brief and did a great job!" "
